In the context of the interest of the General Directorate of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission to ensure the success of organizing the technical meetings on time, The PREPARATORY STEERING was held on 18-19 April 2017 at Terminus Hotel in Rabat in the presence of 7 participants from 5 member states representing each From the Republic of Tunisia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kingdom of Morocco and State of Palestane.

The meeting tackled several issues within the framework of the required concerns in the context of the developments known in the area of safety in particular the need to establish a regional safety oversight unit in the Middle East and North Africa region aimed at assisting Member States in the development and implementation of the State Safety Program (SSP) and to help improve States´ capacity to oversee safety, overcome deficiencies and thereby meet international safety requirements.
