ACAO as member of the Safety Enhancement Initiatives Group SEIG has participated in the 5th Meeting of this group, which has been held in Doha, Qatar the 20-22 October 2023. The meeting has been chaired by Dr. Mohamed Hushki. The meeting was attended by a total of fifty two (52) participants from ten (10) States (Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen), three (3) Organizations (ICAO,ACAO, and IATA) and Boeing.

The meeting commenced by the presentation of the statute progress of the safety enhancement initiatives agreed at the MID RASP 2020-2022. The MID-RASP 2023-2025 Edition has been presented and new SEIs has been agreed for the period 2023-2025. Also, the statute of implementation of the 2023 SEIs has been presented, including the endorsement of the guidance material (RSA) on the carriage and transport of lithium batteries.

The meeting noted also the MID region safety priorities split in 3 categories: Operational, Organisational and Emerging risks.

In addition, the meeting noted the progress done in the implementation of the NASP by the MID States.
The meeting was followed by a WorkShop on the development of the NASP.
