Issue 52 of “Arab Aviation” magazine is published

The Arab Civil Aviation Organization in both Arabic and English, rich in content and diverse in its contents, issued issue 52 of September 2023 of “Arab Aviation” magazine.

The editorial by His Excellency Engineer Abdennebi Manar, Director-General of the Organization, touched on the increase witnessed in air transport movement of passengers during the summer season of this year, as it exceeded during the peak period what it was before the pandemic, after more than three years of suffering and restrictions imposed on the sector. The writer pointed out that the World Health Organization announced on the fifth of last May that the Corona virus no longer constitutes a global health emergency that causes international concern, based on the decrease in the death rate, the increase in immunity and the possibility of diagnosis, treatment and vaccination.

He highlighted that the air transport industry requires large investments to accompany the completion of the recovery of the aviation sector and the restoration of the continuous growth in demand for air travel, adding that the latest forecasts indicate that during the next twenty years it will nearly double what it is currently, which will require a fleet of aircraft ranging between 46,500 and 48,900 aircraft, and with a capacity under one hundred seats, noting that the fleet reached 24,510 aircraft at the end of 2022.

The writer stressed that these long-term expectations do not differ from their previous counterparts, but depend on raising the challenges facing the sector in terms of achieving sustainable development goals, especially reducing carbon emissions resulting from air transport activity and the optimal use of information technology in air services, while continuing to raise safety indicators. And civil aviation security.

In the same context, Mr. Attiya bin Saeed Al-Zahrani wrote an article entitled: “Airports of the Future and Air Travel,” in which he said that the airport industry in the world has witnessed significant growth during the past decade, as many countries and companies investing in this field have pumped hundreds of billions of dollars through... In order to expand airports and develop investment in them to keep pace with the accelerating development of the aviation industry and the development of future airports, through modernizing systems Developing operating patterns and creating smart applications that improve the traveller’s experience, enhance the international and regional position in the global travel sector, and result in quality efficiency and sustainability in the field of the aviation and aircraft industry. From time to time, the pace of technological transformations continues to be accelerated by specialists in the aviation industry and airports by building advanced sets of technologies. The most modern and advanced airport has many smart systems in its operations with the aim of achieving the highest levels of efficiency and providing the best services to its passengers, which maintains its position compared to other airports around the world.

On another topic, Captain Ahmed Shady wrote under the title: “Applications of drones in civil uses,” where he pointed out that in light of the progress the world is witnessing in the field of air transport and aircraft, the percentage of use of drones has increased and their importance has increased in various fields. There are major countries seeking to use drones (in various fields, especially the military and war fields), which have been using this technology since the last century in world wars and others.

The new issue also included the timetable for the organization’s training, workshops, and seminars during the last three months of 2023 and for 2024, which was included in the introduction to the issue, in addition to the organization’s activities from July to September 2023, and a number of other reports and articles.
