The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosts the second technical meeting of the Regional Organization for Safety Oversight in the Middle East and North Africa

Yesterday, Sunday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, hosted the second technical meeting of the Regional Organization for Oversight of Aviation Safety in the Middle East and North Africa, with the participation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, and officials of aviation authorities in the Member States, at the Ritz Hotel Carlton, Riyadh.

The meeting aims to complete the establishment of the organization, which will enhance the safety program of the member states of the organization in the field of aviation safety oversight.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Executive Vice President for Safety and Aviation Standards, Captain Suleiman bin Saleh Al-Muhaimidi, welcomed the participants from the member states of the organization, hoping that the meeting would yield the best experiences and practices in the field of air safety control in civil aviation, benefit from the expertise and cadres, establish the highest levels of air safety and educate the latest developments of the group. He noted that the meeting was an opportunity to network and reach agreement on agenda items, and to discuss common issues, and thanked the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for its continuous efforts over the past decade to support the establishment of the Regional Safety Oversight Organization in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA RSOO).

During the meeting, opinions and proposals were exchanged, and coordination and joint cooperation between the civil aviation authorities and authorities in the organization was strengthened.

It is noteworthy that the Regional Organization for Oversight of Aviation Safety in the Middle East and North Africa (-MENARSO0), which is headquartered in Riyadh, aims to enhance the use and development of civil aviation in a safe and effective manner inside and outside the organization’s member states, develop guidance materials, conduct studies, training and consultancy.
