Rabat- The Arab Civil Aviation Organization held, on February 9, 2022, the second meeting of the cyber security working group via videoconference. Twenty three experts representing eleven member states of the organization and regional organizations participated to this meeting.

This meeting falls within the framework of the contribution of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization to the wide-ranging efforts and measures undertaken by the International Civil Aviation Organization and its Member States in the implementation of the decisions issued by the ICAO Assembly at its fortieth session, especially with regards to the implementation of the Global Plan for Civil Aviation Security.

During his opening speech to the meeting, His Excellency Eng. Abdennebi Manar, Director General of the organization, stressed the need to enhance awareness and spread a cybersecurity culture among employees and workers in the aviation system, as well as the importance of exchanging information and best practices to address security challenges at the regional and local levels, and the need for developing a package of relevant training programs.

During this meeting, the priorities set for the work of the cybersecurity working group in terms of strengthening Arab capabilities in this field were discussed.
