The Arab Civil Aviation Organization organized a workshop on the "measures contained in the roadmap for the global plan for civil aviation security", through a visual debate, from 27 to 29 December 2021, with the participation of 40 civil aviation security officials representing 12 member states of the organization.
During his opening speech, His Excellency Eng. Abdennebi Manar, ACAO Director General, affirmed the commitment of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization to contribute to the achievement of the objectives and priorities outlined in the global plan for civil aviation security, especially by enhancing understanding of the risks that threaten aviation security, building and strengthening human capabilities, and strengthening international and regional cooperation, providing technical support and accompanying countries to promote civil aviation security, spreading a culture of security and raising security awareness.
He also called on the participants to exchange expertise, experiences and best practices to enhance aviation security and raise security awareness among all employees and all workers in light of the increasing threats and risks facing the Arab region, in a way to strengthen the Arab complementarity, and benefits from each other's experiences.
During this workshop, which was moderated by Arab competencies known for their scientific and practical acumen in the field of aviation security, the participants reviewed the objectives and benefits of the global aviation security plan, its main priorities, and the plan's performance indicators.
The participants also reviewed ways to implement the results and procedures contained in the plan’s roadmap related to enhancing awareness of and addressing risks, providing security culture and human capabilities, improving technological resources and improving innovation, control and quality assurance, and increasing cooperation and support.
The representatives of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Civil Aviation Organization also reviewed their contribution to strengthening the global aviation security plan.
This workshop falls within the framework of the contribution of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization to the wide-ranging efforts and measures undertaken by the International Civil Aviation Organization and Member States, to implement the resolutions issued by the ICAO Assembly, which helps to implement the Global Plan for Civil Aviation Security.
