The ACAO 47th Safety Committee meeting ASC/47 has been conducted under Hybrid form, the 26 -28 November 2021 from 08:30 to 11:30. As first meeting after the ACAO GA, election of the and vis-Chairperson of the Safety Committee was made. The meeting convened to elect Mr. Ali Neemat Rasham representative of Iraq as chairperson, and Mr. Mohamad Ammous as vis-chairperson, while secretariat ensured by Mr. Hicham Bennani Safety Expert within the ACAO.  

The meeting was attended by a total of 26 participants from 11 States (6 Members and 5 Observers) and 3 Organisations.

Mr. Manar Abdenebi DG of the ACAO opened the meeting welcoming the participants and reviewed practical arrangements for the meeting. The Director General also emphasised that the meeting is characterised by its hybrid methodology that combines virtual and in-person communication. His Excellency also mentioned that the repercussions of the Corona pandemic are still present and renewed from time to time with the emergence of new variants, and this is what hinders the process of restoring activity or limits its effectiveness, which casts a shadow over the entire air transport sector.

In addition to the review of the list of actions and decisions taken as result of the previous session, the meeting adopted a series of recommendations regarding the latest development on the Covid 19 recovery / restart measures as well as implementation of the RSOO, ARCM and Action plan aiming supporting the Members States who request it. The meeting emphasises also the role played by ACAO during the ICAO HLCC as main coordinator between its member States allowing by the same to participate to that conference by a total of 15 WPs presented on behalf of the ACAO States Member.
