The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation meets the Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization

In the framework of enhancing cooperation and continuous communication with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, Pilot Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, met with Engineer Abdennebi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by Pilot/ Muntasir Manna, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation and Dr. Ashraf Noir, head of the Civil Aviation Authority, and Mr. Bassem Abdel Karim, Assistant Minister for International Affairs and Media.

During the meeting, the importance of the relations in the field of civil aviation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the organization were emphasized. In parallel a number of issues of common interest and ways of developing and strengthening their relations were discussed.

For his part, the Minister of Aviation confirmed that there is ongoing close cooperation between the Egyptian aviation sector and the Arab Civil Aviation Organization in various fields and activities of the air transport industry. He also added that the Ministry of Civil Aviation supports the organization through the Civil Aviation Authority, in implementing its strategic plans, as there is an official representation at the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation in the five committees of the organization, i.e. the Committee on Air Transport, Air Safety, Aviation Security, Air Navigation and the Environment.

His Excellency indicated that the Egyptian government always seeks to promote joint Arab action and attaches great importance to supporting civil aviation cooperation, especially at the present time, which poses many challenges to the air transport industry.

In the same context, Engineer Abdennebi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, confirmed that the Egyptian civil aviation sector has witnessed a great development with the concretization of many achievements in various fields. He pointed out that the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation is supporting the Arab Civil Aviation Organization in all its initiatives, pointing to the importance of Arab cooperation in the air transport industry through joint work. The objective of these initiatives being the unification of procedures and enhancement of continuous communication that will help achieve the highest safety standards for this vital sector, considered as the main engine of the economy in the region, through the exchange of experiences, training, activating security aspects and preventing security breaches in cooperation with the concerned authorities to ensure the achievement of the highest levels of security in Our Arab airport.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Civil Aviation Organization is a specialized Arab organization affiliated to the League of Arab States that aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Arab countries in the field of civil aviation and ensure its development and to contribute to consensus to meet the challenges facing the industry at the regional and international levels. It counts 22 Arab countries as member states.
