Rabat - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization held, on November 30, 2020, the forty-fourth meeting of the Air Transport Committee, through visual communication technology. The meeting registered the presence of delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Iraq, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Morocco, while The Republic of Tunisia, the Arab Air Transport Association (AACO) and the International Air Carriers' Union (IATA) participated as observers.

Eng. Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, opened the meeting by welcoming the delegations of the participating countries and wished them every success in the meeting.

His Excellency indicated that the meeting has listed important issues in the field of air transport, especially in light of the current conditions facing the air transportation sector and the negative impact of the Corona pandemic on the air transport industry worldwide. For his part, Mr. Khaled Antar, ACAO’s expert on air transport, welcomed the delegations participating in the meeting and wished them success. Later, the participants discussed the meeting's agenda, which counted important topics, including the decisions of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers in its thirty-third session, held in Alexandria from 20-22 October 2020, as well as the Arab Civil Aviation Organization ‘strategy aiming to ensuring more seats for Arab countries on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as well as the most important initiatives of Arab governments in supporting the civil aviation sector recovery and restart during the Corona .
