Rabat - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization held a training course on "Air Transport Agreements and Treaties" from 17 to 19 November 2020, through the visual communication facility Zoom.

Eng.Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the organization opened the session and welcomed the participants. He also wished them every success, highlighting the great importance of training for the organization, as it is the essence of its work, and indicating that such training courses will contribute to the development of Arab capabilities and competencies working in the civil aviation sector in all its specializations.

Dr. Essam Abdel-Maaboud, Professor of International Law at Cairo University directed the course and Mr. Khaled Antar, ACAO's expert in air transport ensured its supervision.  Sixty executives from the following countries participated in this course including : the Republic of Tunisia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Republic of Iraq, The Republic of Yemen, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman.

The main objective of this session is to enable participants to be familiarized with the contents and foundations of aviation law, and enable them to better understand the requirements and provisions of international treaties and agreements. It will also allow them to acquire a brief idea on ​​the sources of international law and understand the binding element of international treaties and their separation from non-binding legal documents, as well as understand the principles of international law for treaties, the equality of States in terms of sovereignty, and settlement of disputes in international agreements and treaties.
