Montreal - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization participated as an observer, in the second preparatory teleconference meeting for the 12th meeting of International Civil Aviation Organization Committee for Environmental Protection in the Field of Civil Aviation, from 5 to 9 October 2020.

The meeting, witnessed the participation of 130 experts representing member states, specialized international organizations, and Arab countries that are members of the ICAO Environmental Protection Committee, namely the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt whereas Japan was expected to participate to the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments since the first orientation meeting held in South Africa in December 2019, as well as Environmental Protection Committee working groups reports, which are: the Forecast and Economic Analysis Support Group (FESG), and the Modeling and Databases Group (MDG), Long Term Global Aspirational Goal for International Aviation Target Group (LTAG-TG), Corsia Group (WG4), Fuel Task Group (FTG), Sustainability Certification Schemes Evaluation Group (SCSEG), Emissions Task Force (WG3), Noise Action Task Force (WG1), Airports and Operations Task Force (WG2), Impacts and Science Group (ISG), and Aviation Carbon Calculator Support Group (ACCS). The meeting also considered a set of working papers related to the work of the aforementioned working groups and teams.
