Rabat - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization organized a virtual workshop on "Recovery and resumption of operation´ safety: support and control procedures " on 29 and 30 June and 1 July 2020 from 0900-1015 GMT (0900-1015 UTC), in order for the organization to raise the skill levels of workers in the civil aviation sector in light of the emerging Corona virus crisis (COVID-19).

The workshop was opened by His Excellency Eng. Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the objectives of the workshop, which are mainly to support Civil Aviation Authorities´ safety cadres and inspectors, air traffic services providers and airlines to use safety management principles to support their decision-making in order to manage Aviation safety risks, under their responsibility, during the emerging Corona epidemic (COVID-19) and highlighting the most important recommendations of the ICAO Council Working Group on Aviation Recovery (CART) and take off guidance document: air travel guide during the public health crisis caused by The emerging coronavirus and its consistency with guidance documentation prepared nationwide.

Captain Mustafa Lakhdar Airbus 320 captain, instructor and examiner for Air Arabia and a safety inspector at the Moroccan Civil Aviation Authority facilitated this workshop. Engineer / Mohamed Rejeb, air navigation and safety expert at the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, moderated also the workshop.

This workshop was attended by 93 participants from 15 member states of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (the United Arab Emirates, the Tunisian Republic, the Republic of Djibouti, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Somalia, the Republic of Iraq, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Palestine, the United Republic of Comoros, the State of Kuwait, the State of Libya, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania The Republic of Yemen) and two international organizations (ACAO, IFATCA).
