A joint team of five experts, from the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) conducted an aviation system related support operation, covering all USOAP topics, in the Comoros from 24 August to 6 September 2019, in preparation for the International Civil Aviation Organization comprehensive audit scheduled during the month of December 2019.

HE Mr. Naseer Bin Ali, Director General of Civil Aviation, attended this operation. He was accompanied by a number of high officials specializing in the various areas of ICAO´s comprehensive inspection program, which later assisted the support team throughout the mission. H.E. welcomed this valuable initiative, which is part of the "no country left behind" initiative and thanked the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).

This mission is intended to support the Comoros Civil Aviation Authority based on the eight audit areas : Aviation safety: basic aviation legislation, civil aviation regulations (LEG), civil aviation regulation (ORG), personnel certification and training (PEL) and aircraft operation (OPS), Aircraft Accident Investigation (AIR), Aviation Accidents and Incidents Investigation (AIG), Air Navigation Services (ANS), Airports and Air Aids (AGA) approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to qualify and prepare relevant units to comply with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Organization accredited by the Protocol Questions (PQs Identify the strengths and weaknesses, identify the level of effective implementation of the civil aviation system and agree on developing a corrective action plan and continue to provide remote support to civil aviation authorities officials.
