Within the framework of improving coordination among the civil aviation activities in the region, and uniting efforts to enhance safety, absorptive capacity and efficiency of airspace and raise the level of coordination and continuous cooperation with international and regional organizations, the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization organized a workshop on ´´Airworthiness Follow-up´´ Rabat - Kingdom of Morocco during the period 2-4 September 2019.

HE Mr. Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), inaugurated the session. He welcomed all participants, highlighting the importance of this workshop in raising the level of civil aviation personnel, especially those working in the field of airworthiness. He also pointed to the expected upward growth in the coming years in air traffic in the Arab countries, and consequently the urgent need in terms of aviation maintenance personnel. He added that the aircraft fleet in the coming period will be a mix of new generation aircrafts such as Airbus A350, Airbus A320neo, Boeing 787, Boeing 777X and Boeing 737 MAX. This workshop comes within the framework of the qualification of officials of civil aviation authorities and safety inspectors in the civil aviation authorities and airlines, aircraft maintenance facilities and training academies. The aim of this workshop is to enhance the capabilities of the Arab States in the implementation of the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization in the field of airworthiness monitoring, which is one of the components of the organization in the comprehensive audit program, in order to improve the performance of the operation process and respect the continuous airworthiness systems, the implementation of safety requirements and the preparation of relevant human resources. It also aims to provide specialists with a comprehensive concept of Part M regulations and responsibilities associated with the owner and aircraft operator and to highlight the relationship between Part M and Part 145 as well as Part 66 and Part 147.

Eighteen participants attended the course from six member states of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization: Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan and airlines.
