The Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the European Civil Aviation Conference organized a regional workshop hosted by the Ministry of Transportations and Communications of the Kingdom of Bahrain on Aviation risk management from 24 to 25 June 2019 at the Gulf Air Academy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mr. Hussein Ahmed Shuail, Assistant Undersecretary for Safety and Aviation Security and Mr. Adil Bouloutar, Aviation Security Expert inaugurated the workshop on behalf of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Aviation Affairs, and HE the Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, respectively, in the presence of,

- Captain Dhafer Al-Abbasi, CEO of Gulf Aviation Academy

- Mr. Salah Al-Hamoud Director of Safety and Security in Civil Aviation Affairs

- Mr. Atef Al Ajili, Civil Aviation Security Advisor, Civil Aviation Affairs.

This workshop is part of the implementation framework of the European Union Aviation Security Project in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula (CASE), which includes a number of courses and workshops for the benefit of African countries and countries of the Middle East in support of the human capacity building process of these countries. 40 participants representing 10 (10) Arab countries attended the workshop as follows : the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Tunisia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Somalia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait. Aviation security lecturers and experts from some Arab and European countries and regional and international organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) also attended the workshop.

This workshop aims to enable participants to learn about the latest procedures and best practices in dealing with risk management in the field of aviation security in general and in the Arab region in particular. It also fosters a better understanding of how risk management principles are applied in various areas of aviation security at the national, regional and international levels.
