The Arab Civil Aviation Organization participates in the Iraq Aviation Expo 'Expo 2019'

Baghdad - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization participated in the 7th edition of the Aviation Exhibition in the Republic of Iraq on 12 and 13 June 2019.

 

The Minister of Transport Abdullah Laibi opened on behalf of the Chairman of the Council Adel Abdul Mahdi, with an address in which he noted the projects accomplished in the civil aviation sector and the future aspirations that have the potential to give the Iraqi civil aviation sector the place it deserves.

 

The minister said that the aim of the forum is to find solutions to the challenges and obstacles facing the Iraqi airports, and discuss projects that have been addressed within the strategic plan of the Civil Aviation Authority in addition to airport management and  employees and workers skills development,  increase investment opportunities and encourage international companies.

 

He added, "The forum helps standardize and facilitate procedures at all airports in Iraq, including the Kurdistan region and works to increase their resources through the establishment or development of services currently provided".

 

The Minister stressed the importance of the civil aviation industry in Iraq and the strengthening of the relationship between the Iraqi civil aviation authority and the Ministry of Transport and its entities. He pointed out that the Ministry of Transport is working on factually developing Iraqi Airways and Air Navigation in the interest of the country.

 

Eng. Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), praised the achievements of the aviation sector in the Republic of Iraq and the willingness of officials to promote it.

 

On the other hand, Ali Khalil Ibrahim, Director General of the Aviation Authority of the Republic of Iraq, stressed the important role that regional and international organizations can play in supporting civil aviation authorities.

 

A number of officials and experts conducted presentations and discussions focused on the challenges and prospects of modernizing airports and air navigation services in order to develop the air transport activity in Iraq.

 

The presentations dealt with the aspects related to opening up this area to the private sector and taking advantage of the progress that the information and communication technology has achieved in increasing the performance of all actors in terms of safety, security and quality of services.

 

The exhibition has attracted more than 50 leading and specialized companies through the latest technologies, products and services, as well as more than 150 delegates who will exhibit detailed presentations on technological developments, innovations and business practices in the aviation industry.
