Rabat - Eng. Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, received HE Mohammed Abdullah Salad, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Somalia, at the headquarters of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACOA) on the sidelines of the extraordinary General Assembly held in Rabat on 2 and 3 May 2019.

The two parties discussed ways of cooperation and readiness of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization to provide all assistance and support to the Republic of Somalia in various fields of civil aviation (navigation, safety, aviation security, environment and air transport).

The Somali side commended the efforts made by the General Directorate of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization to outreach with the international and regional organizations and the member States of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization on the implementation of the Global Air Navigation Plan and the Global Aviation Safety Plan.

For his part, Engineer Abdenbi Manar stressed the importance of the participation of the Republic of Somalia in various activities of the Organization, including meetings of technical committees, workshops, seminars and training courses to promote the civil aviation sector and raise the level of workers in the sector in the Republic of Somalia.

He also referred to the work plan of the Organization for the next three years, especially in terms of raising the level of safety in the Arab region for countries in need of assistance and support.
