Coordination meeting between the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority In the framework of No Country Left Behind (NCLB) (Cairo, Egypt, 21 and 22 April 2019)

The representative of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, Eng. Mohamed Rejeb, Air Navigation and Safety Expert, participated in the coordination meeting between the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority in the framework of No Country Left Behind, Cairo, Egypt, April 15-18 2019

 

Mr. Mohammed Khalifa Rahma, Regional Director of the ICAO Middle East Office, opened the meeting, welcomed the representative of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, the representative of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation and the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) delegation headed by the Director General of the ICAA and representatives of the UAE and highlighted that the objective of the meeting was to identify the priorities and areas of cooperation in order to contribute to the preparation of ICAA for USOAP-CMA audit mission planned during December 2019 in line with the NCLB strategy for the MID Region.

 

Seventeen (17) participants from two Member States (02) and representatives of three (03) regional and international organizations attended the meeting.

 

A summary briefing of missions carried out by the ICAO, UAE and the EASA were presented and discussed. A priority of areas of cooperation and related action plan were identified and established.

 

On behalf of HE Eng. Abdennebi Manar, ACAO Director General, Engineer Mohammed Rejeb, ACAO Air Navigation and Safety Expert, informed the meeting of the readiness of the ACAO to provide all support in all civil aviation areas to ICAA. Eng. Rejeb also informed the meeting that a priority will be given to ICAA representatives in all courses/workshops planned by the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for the second half of 2019, including for the fellowships provided by the United Arab Emirates, State of Qatar and the Singapore Civil Aviation Academy.
