The Singapore Aviation Academy, a training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), successfully conducted the fourth CAAS-Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) onsite training on State Safety Programme Implementation at Tunis, Tunisia from 12 to 16 November 2018, under the auspices of the CAAS-ACAO Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). L´office de l´Aviation Civile et des Aéroports (OACA) hosted the training and provided excellent administration support to facilitate the smooth conduct of the course.
The 5-day course was attended by a record 55 participants from 5 ACAO states - (Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Yamen) and two international organizations (IFALPA and IFATCA) and air companies (Tunisair and Nouvelair).
Participants were introduced to the ICAO Annex 19 (Safety Management) Standards and Recommend Practices (SARPs) and ICAO Doc 9859 (Safety Management Manual) guidance material pertaining to State Safety Programme (SSP) implementation and administration.
Mr. Mohamed Rejeb, ACAO Safety Expert, actively facilitated the course as supervisor and value-added to the training.
Mr Habib Mekki, Director-General of the Tunisian Civil Aviation Authority and Mr. Mohamed Rejeb, ACAO Air Navigation and Air Safety Expert, officiated at the opening and closing ceremonies.
